Great Loss to Washington DC, NOTHING GAINED

This past winter DC lost the best radio station to a Hispanic Radio format. This is a great loss with no gain. El Zol could have gone somewhere else on the radio dail, in the DC area. The owners of WHFS has done a great injustice to the community majority to a pease a few.

On Wednesday January 12th 2005 without any fanfare, WHFS FM radio station switched from its' alternitive radio format to El ZOL a national spanish radio network. While this is a boon to LA Conquesta, and the growing hispanic population, it is one more notch in the battle loss to America struck in the heart of the Nations Capitol.

WHFS was a rare local treasure something not found in other cities. It was something to brag about locally. With the death of this station, there is nothing left on the DC air waves that is unique and stands alone. It is all now fast food radio.

The sad final minute of WHFS, which stood for Washington High Fidelity Stereo can be heard at www.hfstival.com
